The original Paw Walker was established in 2006 after Christine Santora went looking for pet care options for her two energetic rat terriers, Alli and Jasmine, while she was at work or on vacation.  Rather than relying on neighbors or family members, she was looking for a professional that would come to her home, as opposed to a daycare or boarding facility. Realizing that there was a demand for professional pet sitters / dog walkers, Christine decided to put on her walking shoes and start a new adventure in the pet care industry.

For over 10 years, offering high quality pet care services to Lakewood Ranch residents has been Christine's full time passion and career. Recently, Christine joined forces with Chris Cooper, someone that shares the same compassion for animals, and formed Paw Walkers Professional Pet & Home Services.  With this partnership, Paw Walkers will be able to continue to provide exceptional pet care services and offer new services as well.  The Paw Walkers team look forward to serving the community with all your pet care needs.

Christine Santora

After completing my degree in Business Management, I relocated in 1998 to Venice Florida from The Great Lakes of Michigan to accept a position in the banking industry. A few years later, I was able to call Lakewood Ranch my home with my two furry kids, Alli and Jasmine.

Growing up, I have always had a special affection and compassion for pets. I was constantly bringing home stray cats or dogs and sneaking them into my room. I had also become the neighborhood dog sitter at a very young age. Hamsters, snakes, birds, rabbits and horses, you name it I've had it and cared for it.

Alli and Jasmine unfortunately have passed, however, I continue to share my love and passion with my new pack of Paw Walkers clients.  Over the years, I have volunteered at local animal shelters and fostered in my home as well. When I'm not working, I enjoy walking through the woods, biking and rollerblading or having a sandy morning at the beach.

Never would I have thought that 30+ years later, I would enjoy a career doing what I loved as a young girl, sharing my love for animals.

Chris Cooper

Originally from Michigan, I moved to Lakewood Ranch in 2011 to accept a position within the Health & Wellness industry. As an exercise physiologist, I have worked in a clinical setting with cardiac patients, and in a health club and in-home setting as a certified personal trainer.

While I’ve enjoyed caring for human clients, I have to admit that working with animals is my real passion. Who wouldn’t love being greeted each work day by bright eyes and lots of glad-wags. It doesn’t get better than that!

I enjoy an active lifestyle and love the outdoors. My two Vizslas are my constant companions; whether swimming in the Gulf, rollerblading Hidden River Trail, or just being my co-pilots while running errands around town.

Having grown up with Siamese cats, and a Brittany Spaniel, I recognize and appreciate an animal’s unconditional love, and understand their different needs. I have a breadth of experience working with different breeds and feel I have an understanding of their personality traits and always look forward to discovering their idiosyncrasies.

When I’m not exercising my own dogs or those of my clients, you may find me volunteering at The Humane Society - LWR as well as The Tampa Bay Vizsla Rescue and loving every minute of it.
